Fall Football Chili October 19 2018

Fall is finally here, and that means we're thick into Football Season! What goes great with football and cold fall days? Warm, hearty and Cracker-seasoned Chili! So turn on your TV and cozy up to this dish that will make your fans cheer.

COOK TIME: 1 hr 

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3-4 tablespoons Cracker Boy Chili Seasoning 
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can yellow corn
  • 1 (16 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce


  • Directions:

    1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium high heat and cook onion until they start to sweat.
    2. Add the ground beef. Cook for 6-7 minutes, until the beef is browned.
    3. Add the Cracker Boy Seasoning, sugar, tomato paste, and stir. 
    4. Add the broth, diced tomatoes (with juices), drained beans, and tomato sauce. 
    5. Bring the liquid to a low boil. Then, reduce the heat to gently simmer the chili, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    6. Remove from the heat and let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving. 
    7. Top with diced green onion, cheddar cheese, bacon crumbles, avocado or sour cream! This dish is great served with Fritos, cornbread or tortilla chips.
